Elevating bhakti during a Mahotsav

The world over, many festivals are celebrated with great pomp and splendour, but they usually direct the attention outwards. The excitement generates a temporary feeling of happiness, but the inner void remains. Conversely, celebrating a spiritual festival inspires one to turn within, leading to lasting feelings of tranquillity, joy, peace and contentment.

A mahotsav is a spiritual celebration organised on a grand scale. There are three such grand celebrations at the Ashram every year:
  • Chaitra Mahotsav (Bhagwan Mahavira's Janma Kalyanak - sthapnadin of the Ashram)
  • Diwali Mahotsav (Bhagwan Mahavira's Nirvan Kalyanak)
  • Varsh Poornahuti Mahotsav (last 5 days of the year)

Thousands of devotees from all over the world enthusiastically participate in each of the five -day mahotsavs.

The highlights of the divine fest include transformational pravachans by Pujyashri Gurudev along with inspiring talks by Spiritual Masters and distinguished scholars. The following eminent personalities have graced the mahotsavs:-

Other special programmes like bhakti by renowned singers, auspicious pujans, spiritual dramas and quizzes, seva awards, dhwajarohan ceremony, leaders' changing ceremony are organised to turn the occasion into a spiritual fiesta.

Thus, the mahotsavs can be likened to a spiritual gala, a divine bash, offering elevation unmatched by any worldly celebration.
